What is SPAM and how does the college handle it?

SPAM is the common nickname for unsolicited bulk email and has become one of the most frustrating aspects of internet email for users and mail administrators alike.

Pensacola Junior College uses M+Guardian appliances to filter the emails sent to PirateMail. The appliances look at every message that enters the system, deleting those that contain virus data and blocking the messages that look like SPAM or have inappropriate attachments into a Quarantine database.

Please remember that although implementing a filtering system will reduce the amount of junk received in your inbox, "Spammers" use many techniques to bypass filters and are often successful in "sneaking" through.?Please do not have the expectation that your email inbox will be completely free of unwanted communication.

M+ Guardian provides a website for users to manage their Quarantine.
Through this website, you will be able to increase the filtering levels,
create allow lists and block lists and request a daily
report of blocked messages.
